Kerry and I have decided that we are going to try and create a 501(c)3 organization to rescue dogs.
We are going to name the organization Brendan’s Meadows in honor of Kerry’s father who loved dogs and who had adopted many a rescue dog.
We are asking those who want to become a founding member to pledge $1 to the fund. Once the organization is up and running, and we can take eligible charitable contributions, we will ask for more support.
The long-term goal of Brendan’s Meadows is to create a farm for dogs to live on while they await adoption or live out their years. We’ll do our best to never destroy any dog. It will also be a place where people who may not want to adopt a dog, can come to and still spend time with dogs in a fun and interactive environment.
It may be a few years before we can create our dream but in the meantime the fund will support local animal rescues and other good causes.

John and Kerry:
I want to help with this. And I think I can do better than $1, if you need it at this time. Where do I send the $$$?
This is something I have always dreamed of doing but probably will never have sufficient health or financial resources to do myself.
So if I can help you guys do this, I would love that.

We are only taking pledges of $1 at this time…we are going to set up the 501(c)3 and then mail out flyers asking for the $1 pledge AND any additional contributions. We are waiting for 501(c)3 status so that donations are tax deductible. I need to make up the pledge form. It will be on http://www.brendansmeadows.com shortly…

I love this you are both remarkable people for helping animals in need. I would love to help not only with a donation but also with placement, rehabilitation etc. My dream was to become a vet and well I unfortunately I realized that I could not seperate my love for animals for there well-being (meaning I would be like Ralph Kramden and bring them all home). I would love to help and hopefully soon be able to visit this farm (maybe it will be like a mini Dogtown). I will pass this site on to others.
